What is the Virginia Petroleum Storage Tank Fund?

The Virginia Petroleum Storage Tank Fund (VPSTF) is a financial assistance program that provides reimbursement for eligible owners/operators for investigation and cleanup costs in connection to petroleum storage tank release, as well as for costs incurred for third-party bodily injury and property damage. The fund is administered by the VDEQ and is primarily funded by a 0.6% state fee on regulated petroleum products.

How do we help?

Instead of requiring owners to pay for cleanup out-of-pocket and wait for reimbursement, the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VADEQ) has simplified the process by allowing owners to assign the reimbursement payment directly to a company such as Greene Environmental. When eligibility for the fund is established, our team will finance all corrective action activities required by the VADEQ. Our understanding of the fund’s rules and regulations means we can possibly save you thousands of dollars in assessment and contaminated site cleanup fees.

The VPSTF covers a maximum of $1 million dollars per occurrence, and our team at Greene Environmental Services can help you navigate the process and ensure that you receive the financial assistance you need.
